Wow..Summer has passed us by so quickly but we are finally heading into Fall- the best hiking season of the year ( read: snakes go into hiding!). As I continue to explore new places , trails and delve deeper into the Pennsylvania’s wilderness, I am beyond excited to be growing my youtube channel and getting comfortable with my editing app. This year has sure seen many challenges and learning curves!
When i first announced my 2024 goal of going down this road, i was totally clueless and “tech stupid”, but desperately wanted to see if this was something I would enjoy. As i expanded my knowledge and experience, and with each hike/ video /editing session, i finally started seeing the results of my efforts. In fact, when i looked back at my earliest videos, i couldn’t believe the difference. I have even made a few of those private now so i can re-do them-( but have not deleted them because it’s always good to remember where you came from).
I hope everyone has been challenging themselves in some new area this year. Having goals and making progress can be super motivating. Just be sure to reward yourself for this along the way. I just did this by FINALLY purchasing a tripod and selfie stick which will enable me to get better angles and photos.Next year, i hope to be able to get one of those fancy Go Pro cameras as well.
But for now, I also have to focus on something else!
Earlier this month, i put my house on the market, and just signed a contract. The settlement is projected to be November 8th, and as many of you know, the anxiety of everything involved can be very stressful.Besides packing up and moving all my stuff into storage, i will also have to find suitable short term lodgings while i search for my next property.It’s a little scary, but also very exciting:)
In the meantime, I work, hike, eat, sleep, repeat. And i have been fortunate to have been to so many gorgeous places, experienced wonderful surprises and even learned some history along the way.
